Members and roles
Sharing a repository
Repository owners can share a repository with other people. Once shared, it appears under Shared with me in the recipient's sidebar — they can open chats and the group chat without needing to be invited again for each one.
Roles
Edithly distinguishes a few levels of access:
- Owner / Admin — full control over the repository: create and manage chats, add or remove members, manage repo-level documents, adjust group chat / Edith AI settings, and access analytics for the repo
- Lead / Teacher — broadly the same working access as members, plus access to the analytics dashboard for repos they manage
- Collaborator / Member — can access shared chats and group chat, ask questions, and generate visuals from shared material; admin actions (renaming, deleting, managing membership) may be limited depending on the role assigned
Exactly which actions are available depends on the role a member has been given — owners control this when sharing or managing the repository.
Managing access
From the repository's member management (available to owners), you can add people to the repo, remove them, and adjust their role. Removing someone revokes their access to the repo's chats, documents, and group chat going forward.
