Classroom workflow
Repositories work well as virtual classrooms or course spaces. A typical setup looks like this:
1. Create the course repository
A teacher or lead creates a repository for the course and gives it a clear name (e.g. the course code or title).
2. Add the shared readings
Attach core materials — syllabi, readings, slides, recorded lecture transcripts — directly to the repo via the Attachments sidebar, so they're available as context in every chat in the course, not just one.
3. Add students
Share the repository with students. It appears under Shared with me in their sidebars, giving them access to the shared materials, chats, and group chat.
4. Use group chat for the class
Open the repo's group chat as the central place for class discussion. Students can ask questions there, mention @edithly for AI help, and the teacher can choose between manual and smart AI modes depending on how hands-on they want Edith to be.
5. Generate study material from shared context
Because repo-level documents are shared, any chat in the repo (a student's own, or one in group chat) can generate visuals — cheat sheets, flashcards, MCQs, timelines, and more — using the course materials as a base.
6. Track engagement
Teachers and leads can check the analytics dashboard for the repo to see activity trends, topics students are struggling with, and how the shared material is being used.
